Künker sale 263, lot 847

This specimen was lot 847 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €650 (about US$840 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Erfurt, STADT Reichstaler 1617. Attraktives Exemplar mit hübscher Patina, sehr schön +. (Germany, city of Erfurt, thaler of 1617, attractive example with handsome patina, very fine or better.)"

Several varieties of thalers are listed for this date (Dav-5258, -5259, -5260, -A5259, -5262). Later issues are all rare.
