The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[India, Mysore|MYSORE]]: Haidar Ali, 1761-1782, AV mohur, Bahadurpatan, AH11xx, year 14, in the name of Shah Alam II, one tiny testmark on the edge, EF, RR. There are 3 examples of year 14 recorded on CoinArchives, all from the same pair of dies." This type was struck years 14-20. Haidar Ali and his son Tipu, both Sultans of Mysore, were the chief obstacles to British hegemony in south India in the late eighteenth century.
