Queen Wilhelmina abdicated in 1948 in protest of Dutch colonial policy in Indonesia in favor of her daughter, Juliana, who would rule until 1980. New coin types were therefore necessary and were introduced in 1950. This specimen was part of lot 3570 in Sincona sale 26 (Zurich, October 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"Juliana 1948-1980 Proof-Set 1969. 1, 5, 10 und 25 Cent, 1 und 2 1/2 Gulden 1967. Münzzeichen Hahn. Schulman 1255, 1218, 1183, 1152, 1123, 1113. Als Satz sehr selten. Polierte Platte. (kingdom of the Netherlands, Juliana, 1948-80, proof set of 1969, containing the one, five, ten and twenty-fives and one and 2½ gulden, all with the rooster privy mark. Rare as a set, proof.)"
This denomination was struck 1950-80 without change and no dates are rare.
Recorded mintage: 14,000,000 (fish privy mark) plus 21,000,000 (rooster privy mark) plus proofs.
Specification: 3 g, nickel, 19 mm diameter, reeded edge.
