Sincona sale 51, lot 3382

This specimen was lot 3382 in Sincona sale 51 (Zürich, October 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Weimarer Republik, 50 Rentenpfennig 1923 F, Stuttgart. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Germany, Weimar republic, fifty pfennig of 1923, Stuttgart mint. Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"

This type was issued 1923-25 as part of the renten mark coinage, which superseded the reichsmark of the Wilhelmine empire. The type is uncommon but this date is scarce.

Recorded mintage: 120,000, a better date.

Specification: 5.17 g, aluminum bronze, this specimen 4.92 g.

Catalog reference: KM 34, J. 310.
