Sincona sale 20, lot 3250

The first specimen was lot 3250 in Sincona sale 20 (Zürich, October 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "50 Bani 1900. Hamburg Stempel von A. Scharff. Gutes vorzüglich. (fifty bani of 1900, Hamburg mint, dies by A. Scharff, choice extremely fine.)" This type was struck in Hamburg 1894 and 1900-01 to the standard of a French silver fifty centimes. It is common. Prince Carol was promoted to king in 1881.

Recorded mintage: 3,838,000.

Specification: 2.5 g, 0.835 fine silver, 19 mm diameter, this specimen 2.50 g.
