Goldberg Sale 137, lot 1528
G137-1528r.jpg

This specimen was lot 1528 in Goldberg Sale 137 (Los Angeles, January 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Norway. 50 Ore, 1877. Not shown on the PCGS Pop report. PCGS graded EF-40." In 1907, Norway obtained a divorce from Sweden and became an independent kingdom under a Danish prince. Even before passing under Swedish rule in 1814, Norway had enjoyed a separate coinage from Denmark. This type was struck 1877, 1880, 1885-1904 and was accompanied by one and two kroner of similar design. Many dates are very scarce. This one is a better date despite having the highest mintage.

Recorded mintage: 800,000.

Specification: 5 g, 0.600 fine silver.

Catalog reference: KM-356.
