This specimen was lot 10091 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €840 (about US$876). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 8 Skilling, 1608. Copenhagen Mint. Christian IV. NGC AU-53. Attractive toning with crisp details, especially on obverse. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Aug K. Krautwald Collection." This type was struck at Helsingør 1608 only and was worth one twelfth speciedaler. Another eight skilling (KM 32.3) was struck at the Copenhagen mint. Christian IV (r. 1588-1648) had a long but only moderately successful reign. His war with Sweden and his intervention in the Thirty Years War were costly and brought little gain.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 2.92 g, 0.888 fine silver, 25 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-32.4 (formerly KM 42); Hede-96; Sieg-55; Schou-64; Bruun-4785.
