This specimen was the first issue of this type, which is still in production as of 2024, tho the last date struck for circulation was 1991. With US$1 = 1159 won (as of April 2019), this coin has a face value of eight hundredths of a cent. The flower featured on the obverse is the Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus).
