This specimen is one of a type issued 1992-2009. After the reform of the peso in 1992, one new peso = 100 old pesos. It was replaced by a stainless steel type (KM 936) struck 2009-19. When it was introduced, one dollar was about three pesos; today (December 2024), US$1 = 20.6 pesos.

Recorded mintage: 135,112,000.

Specification: 4.39 g, aluminum bronze, 22 mm diameter, scalloped edge.
