This specimen is one of a type issued 1992-2009 as part of the reform of the Mexican peso. It was replaced by a stainless steel type (KM 936) struck 2009-19. When it was introduced, one dollar was about three pesos; today (December 2024), US$1 = 20.6 pesos.
Recorded mintage: 234,142,000.
Specification: 4.39 g, aluminum-bronze, 22 mm diameter, scalloped edge.
