This specimen was lot 70410 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1500 Pesos, 1968. Bogota Mint. PCGS PROOF-67 DEEP CAMEO Secure Holder. This coin contains 1.8663 oz. AGW. Proof issued for the International Eucharistic Congress. Bright yellow gold color with stunning reflective surfaces. Ex: El Dorado collection Lot # 12344." This type was accompanied by gold 100 pesos (KM 231), 300 pesos (KM 233), 500 pesos (KM 234) and 200 pesos (KM 232). For the masses, a copper-nickel five pesos (KM 230) was emitted.

Recorded mintage: 5,722 plus proofs.

Specification: 64.50 g, 0.900 fine gold.
