The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Iran|IRAN]]. 1/2 Azadi, SH 1358 (1979). Tehran Mint. NGC MS-67. This tremendous Superb-Gem delivers rich details and much allure throughout." The year after the shah was ousted, the ayatollahs authorized the minting of gold half, one, 2½ and five azadis, based on the old pahlavis.
