This specimen was lot 4404 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $11,700. The catalog description^[1] noted, "POLAND. Danzig. Ducat, 1661-DL. Danzig Mint. John Casimir. PCGS Genuine--Scratch, Unc Details. This beautiful Ducat from Danzig is ethereal in its beauty. Its delicate strike plays out on beautifully reflective fields that give an almost prooflike nature to this strike. An unfortunate scratch exists behind the bust, even such, this remains an attractive piece of gold from Danzig which always is in demand. A chance at a desirable piece for a price that is more affordable than most. From the Mark and Lottie Salton Collection." This type was struck 1658-63 and accompanied a double ducat (Fr-22).
