Lima Mint. NGC EF-40. Variety with roped edge. A wholesome and problem free example, this problem free specimen yields much retained beauty and even circulation on the high elements of the design. A SCARCER later date 8 Reales that is certain to please." This type was struck 1841-52. the branch mints Cuzco and Arequipa were winding down their operations after being very busy in the 1820's and 30's. The last Cuzco 8 reales was issued in 1840 (KM 142.9) and the last Arequipa 8 reales was in 1841 (KM 142.11, an extreme rarity). The last eight reales struck in Lima was issued in 1857.
