H3067-35135r.jpg

This specimen was lot 35135 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $2,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "Switzerland: Confederation Franc 1908-B MS68 PCGS, Bern mint. Truly a stellar gem with spectacular eye appeal, impeccable strike, with gorgeous blends of turquoise and coral hues. From the Feeling Good Collection." This type was struck at the Bern mint 1874-1967. The design is still in use today tho the coin is now copper-nickel. This specimen is struck to the standard of the French franc of 1866-1920. This date is somewhat scarce. Prior to confederation in 1850, each Swiss canton issued its own coins.

Recorded mintage: 1,200,000 plus specimens.

Specification: 5 g, .835 fine silver, 23.2 mm diameter, reeded edge.

Catalog reference: KM 24.
