This specimen was lot 4435 in Stack's-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $45. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. Rappen, 1908 B. PCGS MS-66 RB. Sharply struck with considerable mint red." This type was struck at the Bern mint 1902-41. This is a common date. Zinc rappen were minted during World War Two and when bronze rappen resumed in 1948, a modified design was introduced.
