This specimen was lot 1231 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €420 (about US$543 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM Friedrich August III. (I.), 1763-1806-1827. Konv.-Taler 1804, IEC. Ausbeute. Min. justiert, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Electorate of Saxony, Frederick August III, 1763-1807, convention (mining) thaler of 1804. Light adjustment marks, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type was issued 1793-1806. It is common for a mining thaler but less available than the regular issue (Dav-850). The issues of 1793-1800 are catalogued as Dav-2703.
Recorded mintage: unknown but slightly scarce.
Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver.
