This specimen was lot 34695 in Heritage sale 3094 (Chicago, August 2021), where it sold for $5,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. Wilhelm gold 10 Taler 1832-CvC AU58 NGC, From SS New York Shipwreck. Bordering on Mint State preservation and graced with an abundance of lustrous reflectivity that fills the fields against fully rendered motifs. NGC notes that only a single example has been certified finer by their service. From the Long Island Collection." This type was issued in small quantities 1831-34 along with a gold 2½ (KM 1125) and five thaler (KM 1126). The last ten thaler was struck in 1857. It was equal to the Prussian doppelter friedrichs d'or (Fr-2428).

Specification: 13.30 g, 0.900 fine gold.
