This specimen was lot 22490 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $2,160. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. 2 Henri d'Or, 1554-G. Poitiers Mint. Henry II. Fine. A well worn but generally mark-free gold coin with fully readable legends. Note: Due to its extensive usage in jewelry, both PCGS and NGC have declined to encapsulate this coin." This type was struck at Poitiers for Henry II 1550-58. It had a face value of one hundred sols tournois or five livres tournois.
