This specimen was lot 3026 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $90. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY: Weimar Republic, AR 5 reichsmark, 1930-J, Liberation of Rhineland, XF, ex Almer H. Orr III Collection." The regime issued several five mark in 1930, including KM 56 (oak tree), KM 68 (zeppelin flight) and KM 71 (liberation of the Rhineland, shown here). The reverse legend, "DER RHEIN DEUTSCHLANDS STROM · NICHT DEUTSCHLANDS GRENZE ·" translates as, "The Rhine--Germany's river, not Germany's border".

Recorded mintage: 49,000 plus proofs, a better date.

Specification: 25 g, 0.500 fine silver, 37 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-71, Dav-973.
