This specimen was part of lot 77605 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), which sold for $125. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Trio of Silver Life and Legacy of the Queen Proofs (3 Pieces), 2022. Llantrisant Mint. Charles III. PROOF. ASW: 2.08 oz. Each is housed in original case of issue with certificates of authenticity. 1) 5 Pounds. S-L132; KM-2198. 2) 2 Pounds. KM-2187. 3) 50 Pence. S-H114; KM-2165a." Other fifty pence for 2022 included KM 1337, 1806, 2152, 2153, 2154, 2155, 2156, 2157, KM 2158, KM 2159, 2160, 2161, 2162, 2163, 2164, 2166, 2150, 2151, 2167, S-BSD23, S-H103 (the Spink numbers refer to issues without KM numbers). This type was struck in copper-nickel, silver, silver piedfort, gold and platinum.
Recorded mintage: 9,600,000 in copper-nickel plus 199,796 proofs plus 23,131 in sterling silver plus 4,600 silver piedforts plus 1,274 in gold plus 170 in platinum.
Specification: KM 2165: 8 g, copper nickel, 27.3 mm diameter; KM 2165a (shown here): 8 g, 0.925 fine silver.
