Sincona sale 93, lot 1124

This specimen was lot 1124 in Sincona sale 93 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 140 CHF (about US$194 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSLAND Kaiserreich und Föderation, Paul I. 1796-1801, 2 Kopecks 1798, Suzun mint, KM. Selten in dieser Erhaltung, Rare in this condition. PCGS MS63 BN."

This type was struck 1797-1801 at the Suzun mint and also at Ekaterinburg and Annensk. Later types were considerably reduced in weight.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 20.48 g, copper, 35 mm diameter.
