Sincona sale 101, lot 4326

This specimen was lot 4326 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$377 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Waadt/Vaud, Kanton. Batzen 1811, Lausanne. Exemplar der Auktion SINCONA 64, Zürich, Juni 2020, Los 3682. FDC. (Switzerland, canton of Vaud, one batzen of 1811, Lausanne mint. Mint State.)"

Formerly a Bernese bailiwick, Vaud joined the Swiss Confederation as an independent canton in 1803. There is no Vaudois coinage prior to that date. This type was struck 1804-20 and is common.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 2.55 g, 0.160 fine silver, 25 mm diameter, this specimen 2.76 g.

Catalog reference: KM 8, D.T. 234h. HMZ 2-1004i.
