This type, struck 1910-21 and 1925, features the "mantled bust" of queen Wilhelmina. On her coronation in 1898, the regency ended and she assumed full powers of the throne. This bust was used on all the silver and gold denominations from the ten cents to the ten gulden. The Netherlands managed to stay neutral in World War One and so escaped the cataclysm of trench warfare and occupation.
Recorded mintage: 4,000,000 (a common date).
Specification: 3.57 g, 0.640 fine silver, 19 mm diameter, reeded edge.
Catalog reference: KM 146, Sch-867.
