Sincona sale 18, lot 1411

This specimen was lot 1411 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Vereinstaler 1860. Hannover Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (kingdom of Hannover, union thaler of 1860, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type was minted in substantial numbers 1857-66. In 1866, Hannover was swallowed up by Prussia and the coinage ended.

Recorded mintage: 790,427.

Specification: 18.52 g, 0.900 fine silver, lettered edge, this specimen 18.50 g.
