This type was struck in 1930 at Paris. Uruguayan coinage was sporadic in the twentieth century and many issues are rare; this one is common. The subsequent issue of 1942 (KM 29) was was only 3 g, 0.720 fine. The other issues of 1930 were an aluminum-bronze ten centésimos and a gold five pesos.
Recorded mintage: 2,500,000.
Specification: 5 g, 0.800 fine silver, .128 troy oz ASW, 25 mm diameter.
