This specimen was lot 6291 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,098 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND, 2 Pfennig 1959, G. Von großer Seltenheit. Nur 30 Exemplare geprägt. Polierte Platte. Exemplar der Sammlung Coenen. Exemplar der Auktion Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. 427, Frankfurt/Main 2020, Nr. 2201. (Federal Republic of Germany, two pfennig of 1959. Only thirty pieces struck in proof.)"
This type was struck for circulation in 1950 and 1958-68. The type was converted in 1968 to copper plated steel (KM 106a).
