This specimen was lot 22554 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $235. The catalog description[1] noted, "HONDURAS. Peso, 1887. NGC AU-58. Far 7. From the Richard Stuart Collection." This type was issued in Honduras 1883-1903 and 1914 and usually comes poorly struck. It is much commoner than the earlier KM 51, issued 1881-83. Varieties, overdates, etc., abound. The peso was dropped in favor of the lempira in 1931.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 25 g, 0.900 fine silver, .723 troy oz ASW.
Catalog reference: KM-52.
