This specimen was lot 74502 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 10 Kopeks, 1942. Leningrad (St. Petersburg) Mint. PCGS AU-53. The undisputed KEY DATE within the series, and quite elusive in any appreciable condition." This type was struck 1937-46 and this is a rare date.
Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.
Specification: 1.74 g, copper-nickel, 17.5 mm diameter, reeded edge.
