This quinto was struck 1863-75 in Lima, Peru. Most dates are readily available. Varieties and overdates abound; an 1864/3 is listed for this date. A later type, with a slightly different figure of seated Liberty, was struck 1888-1917 (KM 205). The type was replaced by a copper-nickel twenty centavos in 1918.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common in circulated condition.
Specification: 5 g, 0.900 fine silver, reeded edge.
Catalog reference: KM 191.
