This specimen was lot 29315 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $1,292.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V Florin 1924-(M & SY) MS63 PCGS, Melbourne & Sydney mints. A fantastic specimen, featuring subtle obverse tone in a desirable shade of champagne and a reverse that sports moodier, purplish patina that clings to the devices. Most pleasing in this well-preserved quality." The type was struck 1911-36 at London, Melbourne (this specimen) and Heaton. This type was struck 1911-36 at London, Heaton, Sydney and Melbourne. The dates prior to the late twenties are scarce, especially in nice condition. The Sydney mint struck this type 1924-26 but its product is indistinguishable from that of Melbourne.

Recorded mintage: 1,582,000 (Melbourne and Sydney together).

Specification: 11.31 g, 0.925 fine silver, .336 troy oz ASW, 28.5 mm diameter, designed by W. H. J. Blakemore.

Catalog reference: KM 27.
