The first specimen was lot 700 in Stack's "Vermuele, Ward & Mexico Maxico" sale (New York, January 2010), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMAN STATES. PFALZ (PALATINATE). Karl Ludwig, 1648-1680. Ducat, 1662. Elegant armored bust r. within titles Count Palatine of the Rhine, High Treasurer of the Empire, Prince Elector and Duke of Bavaria. Rv.
