This specimen was lot 188 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €34,000 (about US$44,108 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"QUEDLINBURG, ABTEI, Anna Sophia von Pfalz-Birkenfeld, 1645-1680. Taler 1675 GF, Quedlinburg. Auf ihr 30-jähriges Regierungsjubiläum. Brustbild mit aufgesetzter Haube und Perlenhalsband l.//Roesette über zehn Zeilen Schrift. Von größter Seltenheit. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich. (Germany, abbey of Quedlinburg, Anna Sophia von Pfalz-Birkenfeld, 1645-80, thaler of 1675, Quedlinburg mint, on her thirtieth anniversary as abbess. Obverse: hooded bust left with pearl necklace; reverse: rosette with ten line inscription. Extremely rare, handsome patina, extremely fine.)"
Another, equally rare thaler of 1675 (Dav-5726) does not mention the anniversary. The abbey, founded in the tenth century, was annexed by Prussia in 1803 during the mediatizations.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver, 39 mm diameter, this specimen 29.12 g.
