This specimen was the first issue of this type, which is still in production as of 2012, the last date listed in the SCWC. With US$1 = 1159 won (as of April 2019), this coin has a face value of two fifths of a cent. The turtle boat featured on the obverse was used by the Korean navy in medieval times to ward off attempted Japanese invasions.
