Denmark 1907-VBP 10 ore

from the Stack's Bowers September 2023 Collector's Choice sale, lot 74295

This specimen was lot 74295 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $30. The catalog description^[1] noted, "DENMARK. 10 Ore, 1907-VBP GJ. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik VIII. PCGS MS-65. A tiny but incredibly crisp silver minor, offering radiant luster mingled with a hint of tone." This type was also struck 1910-12. This coin was struck to the same standard as the Swedish 10 öre. This specimen realized only one-third the catalog value, a common affliction among Danish coins of the decimal period.
