This specimen was lot 3588 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$1,982 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Zug, 1/6 Assis 1747, Zug. Grosses geschweiftes Wappen ohne Buchstaben. Wertzahl mit zweizeiliger Inschrift. Darunter die Jahreszahl. Selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Zug, one sixth assis of 1747, Zug mint. Obverse: large curved arms without legends; reverse: value with two line inscription, date below. Rare, especially in this quality, Extremely fine.)"
The SCWC lists this type for 1747-52, 1756-57, 1761-67. Like many low denomination coins, it is common in low grade but rare in choice condition, no contemporaries thinking it worth hoarding. It was equal to the angster (1/600 thaler).
Recorded mintage: unknown.
