This specimen was lot 172 in Sincona sale 75 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 2,600 CHF (about US$3,156 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Grossbritannien | Königreich. William III. 1694-1702. Guinea 1699, London. Second laureate bust. Von grösster Seltenheit. NGC XF Details. Rand bearbeitet. (kingdom of Great Britain, William III, 1694-1702, guinea of 1699, London mint, second bust. Of the highest rarity, Edge tooled.)"
This type was struck 1697-1700. Guineas of 1699 are known with the elephant and castle below the bust. These obtain a substantial premium.
