This specimen was lot 1063 in Ponterio sale 182 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $646.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 6 Pence, 1732. PCGS MS-64 Secure Holder. George II (1727-60). Attractive old cabinet toning, with good luster." This type is listed in various varieties for 1728-41, including KM 564.1 (plain) struck 1728; KM 564.2 (plumes) struck 1728; KM 564.3 (roses and plumes, shown here) struck 1728-36; KM 564.4 (roses) struck 1739, 1741). A heavily used denomination, it is common in low grade but scarce choice.
