Sedwick Treasure auction 26, lot 359

This specimen was lot 359 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 26 (Winter Park, FL, November 2019), where it sold for $285.60. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Mexico City, Mexico, cob 1 real, 1707J, rare. Small, worn flan (VG) with clear date and full oMJ, good full cross, lightly toned. Auction lot-tag personally signed by John Pullin. The John Pullin Collection of Dated Mexican Cobs." The silver cobs were debased from 0.931 fine to 0.917 fine in 1728. They are not rare but very scarce with legible dates.
