Stack's Bowers February 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 74345
SB224-74345r.jpg

This specimen was lot 74345 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "COOK ISLANDS. 5 Dollars, 2017. Elizabeth II. PCGS PROOF-70 Deep Cameo. First strike. Essentially flawless, with a majestic cameo nature." The Cook Islands, like many small, impoverished nations, has contracted with private mints to produce and market a large variety of commemoratives marketed in lands far from the issuing country. We were unable to verify the catalog number cited below as it is missing from the edition in our possession.

Recorded mintage: 1,500.

Specification: 28.35 g, silver, 35 mm x 35 mm.

Catalog reference: KM-1852.
