This specimen was lot 34270 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $763.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Unterwalden. Canton Batzen 1812 MS63 ANACS. Unterwalden, being half Catholic and half Protestant, was divided into half cantons, Nidwalden and Obwalden. The coinage of the canton of Obwalden is not so common and this one year type is no exception. This series of 1812, which included a half batzen and a five batzen, is the last from the canton.
