This specimen was lot 5440 in Sincona sale 35 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$416 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Wallis / Valais | Sitten, Bistum, Franz Friedrich Ambüel, 1760-1780 6 Kreuzer 1777. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Fast vorzüglich. (bishopric of Sitten, Francis Frederick Ambuel, 1760-80, six kreuzer of 1777. Very rare in this condition, About extremely fine.)"
This one year type was issued by the bishop of Sitten (Sion in French), now part of the canton of Valais. Valais was not officially a member of the Swiss confederation until 1815.
