This specimen was lot 2496 in Sincona sale 33 (Zürich, October 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"Preussen, Königreich. Wilhelm II. 1888-1918 5 Mark 1893. A Berlin. FDC aus Polierter Platte. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, William II, 1888-1918, five mark of 1893, Berlin mint. Uncirculated/Proof.)"
This type was struck 1891-1908, tho the SCWC does not mention any proofs. It superseded a similar type with a different reverse (Dav-788).
Recorded mintage: 215,300.
Specification: 27.77 g, 0.900 fine silver, lettered edge, 38 mm diameter, this specimen 27.76 g.
