Sincona sale 47, lot 1969

This specimen was lot 1969 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 800 CHF (about US$960 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"POLEN, Stanislas August Poniatowski, 1764-1795. 4 Groschen 1767, Warschau. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-FDC. Hübsche Patina. (kingdom of Poland, Stanislas August Poniatowski, 1764-95, four groschen of 1767, Warsaw mint. Very rare in this condition, Extremely fine-uncirculated, Attractive patina.)"

This type was struck 1766-82. Stanislas August Poniatowski was the last king of independent Poland.

Recorded mintage: 7,679,000.
