This specimen was lot 2782 in Sincona sale 57 (Zürich, May 2019), where it sold for 600 CHF (about US$714 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND | Empire | Anhalt, Herzogtum, Friedrich II. 1904-1914. 3 Mark 1911 A, Berlin. Polierte Platte. FDC. (Germany, duchy of Anhalt, Frederick II, 1904-14, three mark of 1911, Berlin mint. Choice Proof.)"
The three mark was roughly equal to the old thaler. Coin issues ceased at the start of World War One and the duchy was abolished with the collapse of the Empire in 1918.
Recorded mintage: 100,000 plus proofs.
Specification: 16.67 g, 0.900 fine silver, this specimen 16.64 g.
