Sincona sale 76, lot 1001

This specimen was lot 1001 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 34,000 CHF (about US$41,269 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BALTIC STATES | Riga | Städtische Münzstätte unter Schweden, Christina, 1632-1654. Taler 1644, Riga. Münzmeister Henrik Wulff (Wulffensköld). Sehr selten. Vorzüglich-FDC. NGC AU55. Prachtvolle Erhaltung mit herrlicher Patina. (Baltic states, city of Riga, under Swedish occupation, queen Christina, 1632-54, thaler of 1644, Riga mint. This type was struck by the city of Riga while under Swedish occupation.
