This specimen was lot 1736 in Sincona sale 82 (Zurich, May 2023), where it sold for 1,200 CHF (about US$1,606 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "George I. 1714-1727. 1/2 Guinea 1723, London. First laureate head. ''Selten'' (Rare). NGC XF Details. ''Leicht gereinigt'' (Lightly cleaned)." This type was struck 1715-24. While not rare, it is expensive in nice condition. The dates 1717 and 1718 appear the most often. A 1721 half guinea with an elephant and castle below the bust exists but is very rare.

This specimen was lot 1736 in Sincona sale 82 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 1,200 CHF (about US$1,606 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "George I. 1714-1727. 1/2 Guinea 1723, London. First laureate head. Selten (Rare). NGC XF Details. Leicht gereinigt (Lightly cleaned)." This type was struck 1715-24.
