This specimen was lot 3384 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it sold for 26,000 CHF (about US$31,026 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"GREAT BRITAIN, Königreich, Mary, 1553-1554 Fine Sovereign 1553. London Münzzeichen Granatapfel. Von grösster Seltenheit. Gutes sehr schön. (kingdom of england, Mary I, 1553-58, sovereign of 1553, Londin mint, pomegranate mintmark. Of the highest rarity, Good very fine.)"
The fine sovereign was thirty shillings (two ryals or three angels) and the largest gold coin of Mary I. It is noted for 1553-54.
