This specimen is one of a type struck at the Bogotá mint 1868-71. This specimen was part of lot 31967 in Heritage sale 3040 (Chicago, April 2015), which sold for $493.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic Lot of 25 Minors, Denominations, dates, and grades vary. Close inspection is a must." This type was also emitted by Medellin 1868-72 and Popayán 1868-78 with Popayán being the most common.
Recorded mintage: 363,000 for 1867-68.
Specification: 1.25 g, 0.666 fine silver.
