The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "Muhammad Reza Pahlavi Shah gold 2-1/2 Pahlavi SH 1352 (1973) MS65 NGC. Mintage of 3,000 pieces. Brilliant golden color with a prime quality appearance." This denomination, equal to 2½ British sovereigns, was struck intermittently 1959-79. Gold one, five ([[Iran SH1340 5 pahlavi|Fr-99]]) and ten pahlavis also exist. The coins generally trade as bullion coins.
